LESCO is continuing its operations against electricity thieves.
The Ministry of Energy’s Power Division has ordered that an anti-electricity theft campaign be run by Chief Executive LESCO Engineer Shahid Haider. The campaign is going well. The effort to stop people from stealing electricity has been going on for 340 days. After cases were filed against 32,353 people, they were jailed. Over 9 crore 70 lakh 85 thousand 841 units have been charged to people who stole power so far. These units are worth 3 billion 54 crore 38 lakh 23 thousand 518 rupees.
In the last 24 hours, 55 people were arrested across the region for stealing energy. A total of 555 people were found to be involved in electricity theft, and cases have been filed against 183 of them. Eleven were business connections, four were agricultural links, and 540 were home connections. After disconnecting every connection, they were charged 520,898 units in the form of a detection bill, which is worth 1,34,89,828 rupees.
