Reportedly Tribune express: A top Pakistani official in charge of Afghan affairs has raised the alarm about the possibility of another 9/11-style attack coming from Afghanistan, which he says is a war-torn country that the rest of the world has almost forgotten about.

“Afghanistan is almost forgotten.” There is no question about it, and this was brought up at the Doha 3 meeting in June. The level of humanitarian aid is not good enough. “Even last year, only a third of the promises were kept,” Ambassador Asif Durrani, Pakistan’s special advisor on Afghanistan, said in a talk at the Ambassadors’ Lounge.

He said that the international community’s goals changed after the war in Ukraine and the killing of Palestinians. “In fact, there’s no news about Afghanistan anymore.” Don’t bother with the front or back pages; Afghanistan isn’t even in the middle pages.

“I think it can push Afghanistan back to pre-9/11 conditions and which in fact then give birth to 9/11,” he said.

He said that 97% of the people living in Afghanistan right now are poor.

“Of which 52 percent of the population is actually dependent on international humanitarian assistance,” he said.

“And if the economy keeps getting worse, I think we should be worried that people in Afghanistan will start leaving the country, and Pakistan is where they want to go.” “This is something that should bother us, and everyone in the world should know what their duties are,” he said.

The special envoy for Afghanistan also said that the presence of terrorist groups like Daesh Khorasan is a big problem for the area and beyond.

It worries me that the ISKP is making progress in Afghanistan. This should be a worry for everyone in the area and beyond, since they have done bad things in Iran, Moscow, and many operations in Pakistan.”TTP attacks in Pakistan have gone up by seventy percent,” Durrani noted.

“Let’s not forget that they have to deal with huge problems.” First, they are not recognized by any country. Second, when they took power, they had no money. Third, they did not expect Ashraf Ghani’s government to fall apart.

The Afghan Taliban have had strict rules since they took power, saying that they are in line with Islam. Even though they said they wouldn’t, the Taliban regime didn’t let girls go to school, which hurt their hopes of getting international support.

Durrani said that the Taliban’s acts might be right for them, but they could not be called Islamic.

“The Afghan Taliban have also implemented certain rules and regulations which in fact may suit the Afghan conditions but certainly do not fit into the Islamic tenets which they claim they have implemented,” he added.

As long as the Taliban were in power, ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan got worse because they wouldn’t stop the TTP threat.

“Pakistan wants peace in Afghanistan. We’ve been telling the Taliban this.” However, we are upset that their peace is a problem for us now that the TTP is in power.”TTP attacks in Pakistan have gone up by seventy percent,” Durrani remarked.
