The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said that temperature in Karachi had its hottest night ever in July, with very high temperatures and humidity.
The lowest temperature in the city was 32 degrees Celsius, which was the warmest nighttime temperature Karachi has ever seen in July.
In the past, the coldest it got in July was 31 degrees Celsius in both 2021 and 2022.
Temperature in Karachi
This past night’s temperature was 4.1 degrees Celsius higher than the usual July temperature of 27.9 degrees Celsius.
The meteorological service said that the heat has been kept up by the fact that sea breezes have not yet returned to Karachi. The heat has been made even worse by the high humidity, which has made it feel even worse.
The weather report for Karachi today says that it will stay hot and humid, with partly cloudy skies. At its highest point, the temperature will likely hit 37 degrees Celsius.
Winds will blow at speeds of 15 to 25 kilometres per hour all day from the west, northwest, and southwest. The Meteorological Department says that the sea waves will be back in full force in 24 hours. This should help ease the extreme heat.
