Punjab has been experiencing very high temperatures lately, so the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) sent out a heatwave alert on Monday.

As of now, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) says that Punjab will stay hot and dry until Eid ul Adha. The department stated that the whole province, including Lahore, is very hot and issued a Heatwave Alert.

As the day goes on, temperatures will slowly rise. Today, the provincial capital saw a low of 28 degrees Celsius and a high of 43 degrees Celsius. The weather service also said that the temperature might rise to 46 degrees Celsius in the next few days.

Heatwave Alert

Similarly, Sindh has had long heatwaves and its hottest May ever, with temperatures reaching as high as 50 degrees Celsius in many towns for days at a time.

The Mohenjo Daro weather station recorded a scorching 52.5°C on May 26. This was the hottest day of the summer so far. It got to 52 degrees Celsius in Jacobabad, which was right behind.

Lower Sindh was hit by the heatwave, which made places like Hyderabad, Thatta, and Badin very hot. In Hyderabad, the temperature reached 48°C.
