There are signs that the chaos is ending, but it’s still unclear how long the effects will last. Crowdstrike says it could be “some time.”

The cybersecurity company Crowdstrike said that an update to their antivirus program was the reason for the problem. This software is meant to keep Microsoft Windows computers safe from attacks.

People are reporting the problem on sites like Reddit. One person said, “Wow, stuck in a boot loop, and the entire org taken out.”

It was designed to stop breaches through a unified set of cloud-delivered technologies that stop all types of attacks, including malware and much more.”

The company said it is taking “mitigation actions” because of service problems that began around 6 p.m. Eastern Time. Sky News said the company is looking into problems with cloud services in the U.S. and “an issue affecting several of its apps and services.”

A huge tech failure has messed up travel all over the world and hurt banks and health care as well.
