Microsoft has finally announced a white version of the Xbox Series X. It is all-digital and doesn’t have a disc drive, but it will have the same internal specs and performance as the current Xbox Series X, just like the PS5 Digital Edition. It will have 1 TB of storage space and cost $449.99 when it comes out later this year.
CEO of Xbox, Sarah Bond, showed off the new white Xbox Series X and a 2 TB “Galaxy Black” version of the original Xbox-Series X at the Xbox Games Showcase. Besides that, a $349.99 white 1 TB Xbox Series S will also be available.
The “robot white” finish on the new Xbox-Series X looks a lot like the controller on Microsoft’s $299 Xbox Series S. Based on leaks, some people thought that the white Xbox Series X might have a better fan for cooling, but this won’t be proven until the console is taken apart again.

Also, later this year, Microsoft will sell a special version of the Xbox-Series X called “Galaxy Black.” It will have a disc drive and cost $599.99.

In a blog post, Roanna Sones, who is in charge of Xbox technology, said:
“The new special edition Xbox-Series X has twice as much storage space and a different look than the regular Xbox Series X. It has the same speed, performance, and features.”
This launch could mean that Microsoft has cancelled or pushed back the updated Xbox-Series X model that was talked about in the FTC v. Microsoft papers from last year.

The updated Xbox Series X model, which had the code name “Brooklin” and wasn’t made public until now, was known to have a more circular shape than the current model and wasn’t supposed to have a disc drive.
Microsoft papers said that the Brooklin console was “adorably all digital.” It was also supposed to come out with a new controller and better Xbox Wireless 2 connection. Microsoft had planned for this model to come out in November and said it would cost $499.
