Canada’s women’s soccer team spied on New Zealand during the Paris Olympics

Paris FIFA took away 6 points from the Canadian women’s team because they were caught spying on the New Zealand team at the Paris Olympics. They also banned the head coach and two junior coaches for one year.

Brev Brestman, who is the head coach, and Jasmine Mander and Joseph Lombardi, who are assistant coaches, will all be banned.

The Canadian Football Association was also fined 200,000 Swiss francs, which is about $226,346 USD. A drone was used by the Canadian team to spy on the New Zealand team as they got ready for the Olympics. There was a game between Canada and New Zealand on July 25, and Canada won 1-2.
