Eid ul Azha date

One of the two main Eid holidays for Muslims is Eid ul Azha, which is also called the Feast of Sacrifice. It celebrates Prophet Ibrahim’s desire to give up his son for God.

In the past, animals were killed and the meat was shared among family, friends, and the poor to mark the holiday. During the three days of Eid, the sacrifices are still made to honour Prophet Ibrahim.

Zilhaj is the 12th and final month on the Muslim lunar calendar. It is one of the best months in the Islamic year, and Muslims often fast for the first nine days of it.
