Some lawmakers who support the government think that Lt-Gen Faiz Hameed’s arrest and the start of court martial proceedings on Monday were just the beginning. They think that more information will become public after a full investigation into the case.

When asked what they thought about Gen Faiz’s arrest, Advisor to Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah and Senator Faisal Vawda both said that the fact that court martial procedures had begun showed that there was strong evidence against him.

“Many wrongdoings by Faiz Hameed have been shown in the housing scheme case,” Rana Sana, who is also a top PML-N leader, said. “When there is an inquiry into other matters, other things will also come to light,” he said.

Rana told people not to guess about what was going on and said, “We must confine ourselves” to what ISPR said. “The court-martial process has to proceed according to military procedures” , he stated.

A separate comment from Senator Vawda agreed with Rana’s points of view. He said that by going after Gen. Faiz, the army had shown that its current leaders were honest. “This is just the start.” “More heavyweights are going to fall,” he said.

Vawda thought that more names in the case would be made public, like the ones against Gen Faiz that came from the Top City housing plan case. “That’s not all it’s about. “Those who hurt Pakistan in any way will be held responsible.”

Faisal Vawda said that now it was the turn of all those who had protected theft, including politicians. He also said that those who had backed the violence on May 9 would be held responsible.
