Khadia Shah, a fashion designer, was named by the PTI on Tuesday as its national lead for strategic communications and marketing for the election analysis and management cell (EAMC).

The party told everyone about it in a post on social media site X. The meeting notice was sent to her on August 2.

Khadija Shah was arrested after the May 9 riots. He is the CEO of the fashion brand Élan.

The artist was jailed on charges of rioting and vandalism, but in December 2023, he was freed on bail.

An anti-terrorism court took Khadija Shah bailable warrants away in April 2024. They did, however, issue new ones for her in a case related to the May 9 riots.

Shah announced last month that she was giving up her US citizenship to run for a National Assembly seat reserved for women on the PTI’s ticket. Imran Khan, who was prime minister at the time, offered her the position.

Pakistani law says that people with dual citizenship can’t be members of Parliament.

Yesterday, PTI went to the Supreme Court to ask that its decision from July 12 in the reserved seats case be carried out. They also asked the court to turn down the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) request to hear the case again soon.

Khadija Shah is one of the PTI MNAs who are waiting for the row over the special seats to end.

A statement from the party today says that Salman Amjad, who is in charge of the PTI’s EAMC, chose Shah to be the national lead for strategic messaging and outreach.
